Any citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (by birth, descent or naturalization) residing in the Republic of Benin should apply for the card.

No, you cannot apply. Only Nigerian nationals residing in Benin can apply for the Econsular Card.
I have my NIN. Do I still need to apply?
Yes. The Econsular Card is the official card for Nigerians residing in Benin. The NIN and other details are integrated into the card to give the bearer a comprehensive pass.
I want to apply, but I don't have money. Can I still apply?
The application for the Econsular Card is not free. All applicants must pay a specific amount for the application process to be complete and the card to be issued
How do I benefit from this card?
To be a recognized Nigerian residing in Benin, you need to have the Econsular Card. Having the card comes with access to various services in Benin as a legal immigrant. Other consular benefits can be availed if you have the Econsular Card.
How much is the price for the card?
The Econsular Card costs 15,000 XOF only.
I have a dual passport - one for Nigeria and the other one from UK / US. Can I apply? Should I apply?
Yes. As long as you have a Nigerian passport, you are Nigerian. Being Nigerian and residing in Benin mandates you to have the Econsular card.
How long will it take to get the card once I have registered?
All applicants will get their cards in 10 – 15 working days after registration. However, we are working hard to reduce this timeframe for the convenience of applicants.
After getting the card, what happens if I lose the card?
In the event you lose your card, contact the nearest Nigerian Embassy.
I have a kid of Nigerian origin. Should he also apply?
Minors are not included in the Econsular Card registration.
I am a Nigerian, but adopted by Beninese parents. Should I apply?
If you have a Nigerian citizenship, you should apply for the Econsular Card, but if you do not have Nigerian citizenship, you are excluded from this exercise.
Where do I collect my Econsular ID Card?
All applicants can collect their printed Econsular Cards from their respective community leaders. Alternatively, applicants can contact the Nigerian Embassy.
